There is nothing like new music to your ears to cheer yourself up on these Monday blues. This week features songs from the British, French and US chart.

Bastille – Locked Out of Heaven (Cover):

The BBC Live Lounge does inspire some beauty covers and this is the latest. If you were obsessed with Bruno Mars’ ‘Locked out of Heaven’, but the magic has now gone because it was overplayed on the radio, then this Bastille cover will make you fall back in love with it. The South London quartet has used string instruments along with melodies from Jay-Z, Kanye West, The XX and Rhianna to spice up their version of the hit.

Amelia Lily – Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You’ve Got):

Since finishing third in the 2011 UK X Factor Amelia Lily has slowly been climbing up the music radar with her debut single, ‘You Bring Me Joy’ reaching number 2 in the UK single charts back in 2012. Her feisty female vocals are once again on high form in her latest pop-dance tune, ‘Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You’ve Got)’, where she resembles a young Shakira in the music video.

Tal – Rien n’est parfait:

Another addictive dance track here, this time coming from France. Israeli-born Tal has been on the scene since 2011 where she received her first number one in Wallonia, the French-speaking southern region of Belgium, for her track ‘Le sens de la vie’. Her latest song ‘Rien n’est parfait’ from her debut album Le droit de rêver is currently number 29 on the French official chart.

Justin Timberlake – Suit & Tie (ft. Jay-Z):

Finishing off with a biggie: JT is back! Having spent the last few years focusing on the acting business, this is the first time we have really heard his music since his collaboration with Ciara on her ‘Love Sex Magic’ tune. In the last week his debut single ‘Suit & Tie’ featuring Jay-Z  for his new album, The 20/20 Experience has shot up from 84 to 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

What song did you enjoy best from this list? What is your favourite song you’ve heard for the first time this week?
