There aren’t much entertainment opportunities when you are at ski resorts in Europe. Then again you have mountains, wooden cabins and hot chocolate. What more do you need? Marcus Brigstocke said we needed a comedy festival, and that is what we’ve got.
The annual Altitude Comedy Festival was born in 2008 and it took place in Meribel, France for four years before switching to Mayrhofen, Austria in 2012.
This year Irish comedian Andrew Maxwell has curated the five day long festival, which takes place throughout the 18th to the 22nd of March, and he has been able to muster up some big names on the comedy scene. So far the line-up includes: John Bishop, Phill Jupitus, Andy Smart, Daniel Sloss, Steve Frost and Howard Marks.
